The project
An independent author needed to consolidate her career, publications, media appearances, and various contact methods within a single digital space.
As a personal brand linked to a creative sector, the project required balancing strategy, clarity, and a visual identity with a particularly important emotional component.
The website had to convey the author’s personality and creative universe while also fulfilling a practical function: organizing information, facilitating the discovery of her works, and offering clear paths for readers, media, bookstores, and book clubs.
The challenge
The author already had publications, graphic materials, and an established career, but she needed to transform all these elements into a more coherent and recognizable digital presence.
The challenge consisted of:
- defining a visual identity capable of reflecting her personality;
- differentiating her image from the more conventional conventions of her genre;
- organizing content aimed at audiences with different interests;
- facilitating access to publications, biography, press, and contact;
- creating a structure prepared to incorporate future works.
Before designing, it was necessary to decide what to tell, to whom, and in what order.
Strategy before design
The website architecture was defined based on the different reasons why someone might visit the site.
A reader needs to quickly discover what they can find in her novels. A journalist looks for information about the author and her career. A bookstore or a book club needs to locate publications and a simple way to get in touch.
This reflection determined the website structure, content hierarchy, and calls to action.
Because an effective website does not start by choosing colors or templates. It starts by understanding what the person arriving at the site needs to find.
A unique visual identity
Based on the author’s personality and aesthetic references, a visual identity was developed to reinforce her positioning.
The logo, typography, color palette, and graphic style were crafted with one goal: to convey an elegant, contemporary image with character, capable of coexisting with the different covers of her publications.
The identity was consistently applied to the website and the various graphic materials developed for the project.
Copywriting to communicate, not just describe
The texts were designed to avoid a website based solely on biographical information and synopses.
The homepage needed to help visitors quickly understand the author’s universe and spark interest in further exploring her publications.
The biography was structured from a more narrative perspective, combining her career, influences, and interests to build a story consistent with her identity.
The goal was not simply to provide information, but to shape a recognizable voice and ensure that every visitor could quickly find what they were looking for.
A dedicated space for each publication
Instead of concentrating all the novels on a single page, each work has an independent presentation with its cover, synopsis, and specific information.
This structure improves navigation, makes it easier to share each publication individually, and allows the catalog to be expanded without having to redesign the website in the future.
Mockups and graphic resources were also developed to present the works in a more attractive way that is consistent with the new identity.
Press and career
Interviews, presentations, and media appearances were organized within a specific section.
In addition to gathering the author’s public career, this section makes it easier for journalists, bookstores, and new readers to find more information and contextualize her work without having to look outside the website.
Result
The result is a website that functions as the hub of the author’s digital presence, integrating identity, content, publications, and career within a single system.
More than just creating a visually attractive page, the project allowed for the transformation of different materials and content into a creative personal brand that is more coherent, recognizable, and ready to grow with future publications.
